Beschreibung des Kurses:

The choices in the market for the technical management of apps are multifaceted, likewise the specifications of technical possibilities. The importance of mobile applications in the insurance sector is high. For example, electronic communication enables data regarding acceleration, light, orientation, approach, temperature, gyrocompass, volume, magnetic field, and pressure of a vehicle to be collected and to transmit relevant data in the case of a motor vehicle accident.

The course imparts the course participants with essential market and customer oriented mobile app management expertise. While students have learned about the (software) technical requirements of e-commerce and online marketing within the context of previous modules, the students will now examine, based on a management oriented approach, among other things, aspects of the demand-oriented market analysis, the systematic project management for the development of mobile apps, their technical feasability and cost-economical justability with a focus on the requirements in the financial services sector. Using current app developments, the students are imparted with the knowledge of which management-typical challenges—along with technical framework—need to be addressed in order to successfully develop and launch mobile apps.

Course Objectives and Outcome:

The students:

  • know the technical possibilities and the forms of mobile app development which are chosen and successfully implemented in the financial services sector
  • are proficient in the methods of customer demand analysis in order to determine the market potential of mobile apps that do not yet exist
  • know the providers for creating apps or components in the market and know with which methods a systematic provider screening can be done
  • are able to, based on cost-benefit analyses, evaluate when the development of an app can be seen as economical for a company
  • know which requirements exist to integrate new apps in existing ePlatforms and IT platforms according to global company standards and how to make changes in the relevant platforms
  • can formulate and consider the operational conception (technology, organization and budget)
  • know specific requirements of app development and know how these correspond, especially within the context of authentication, data safety, and recovery
  • know which specific features regarding the approval of a mobile app are to be considered before its launch and can name the requirements of a successful rollout

Teaching Methods:

A variety of learning materials are offered to students: depending on the course, these include printed and online course books, vodcasts, podcasts, online tutorials, case studies, and online knowledge tests. This range of learning materials are offered to students so they can study at a time, place, and pace that best suits their circumstances and individual learning style.
